Mount olive N.C. – The King University women's soccer team were overwhelmed by the University of Mount Olive Trojans early, dropping in a hole 3-0 early in the first half eventually losing 4-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Trojans controlled play in the early going, making it hard on Tornado defenders to keep out of the box.
  • An early own goal in the 15th minute by King took the air out of the Tornado defense.
  • Goals by the Trojan's Davis and Bearden in the 33rd and 39th minute added to lead in the first half making it 3-0.
  • Mount Olive put the game out of reach coming from the boot of Brown stretching the lead 4-0 early in the second half.
  • King eventually dropped the match 4-0.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • Hannah Clements made two 5 saves for the Tornado in goal.
  • Mount Olive led the shot total 18-10, placing four on frame three of which were goals while King had seven shots on goal.

FOR THE FOES

  • Kendall Blaine posted seven saves in goal for Mount Olive.
