King opens 4-1 at Emmanuel meet

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The King University women's opened the season with a solid day at the Emmanuel College meet. The Tornado defeated Bethel University, LaGrange College, Point University and Life University while falling to Emmanuel.

  • The Tornado started with a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay. The quartet of Macarena Martin Mayor, Haley Carpenter, Nicola Mead and Madison Wisley finished in 1:59.08.
  • In the 200 yard freestyle, Carpenter finished in a time of 2:29.80.
  • Wisely came in third in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.52 seconds. She also took third with a 100 yard freestyle time of 55.80 seconds.
  • Martin Mayor finished the 200 yard individual medley in a time of 2:21.21, taking second place. In the 100 yard back stroke, she finished third with a time of 1:05.80.
  • Mead won the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 59.16 seconds. She later finished the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:45.62, taking fourth.
  • Carpenter finished the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:19.09.


  • King next travels to Mars Hill University on Friday at 6:00 p.m. before hosting Milligan College and Columbia College on Saturday.
