BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – In their final tune-up for the Conference Carolinas Swimming Championships, the King University women's swimming team fell at Union College (Ky.) 84-69 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tornado 200 yard medley relay team of Jess Vargo, Josie Gunn, Nicola Mead and Lynsey Knox started the meet with a time of 1:59.38.
- In the 200 yard freestyle, Brooke Williams finished in 2:13.51 while Josie Gunn followed at 2:17.21. Dakota Bastin wasn't far behind at 2:17.86.
- Madison Wisley finished the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.53 seconds.
- Macarena Martin Mayor won the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:15.52.
- In the 100 yard butterfly, Nicola Mead finished first with a time of 58.82 seconds.
- Vargo finished the 100 yard freestyle in 56.40 seconds while Williams came in at 59.72 seconds.
- Knox touched the wall in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:06.54 while Bastin finished in 1:10.21.
- Martin Mayor finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.16.
- The meet closed with the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Vargo, Mead, Williams and Knox finishing in 1:45.48.

"Today was a great tune-up for the conference meet, and we finally hit the times we should be swimming at this point in the season," head coach James Graves said. "Although we had a few swimmers missing and we didn't swim a full lineup, we raced hard and gained some much-needed confidence heading into the conference championships."
