BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second time this year, Madi Matthews of the King University women's swimming team has been named Conference Carolinas Swimmer of the Week.
Matthews started the spring off with a bang in Saturday's meet against University of the Cumberlands. The Franklin, Pa., native won both of her individual races on the day and helped the 200 yard freestyle team finish first with a time of 1:44.06. Individually, she won the 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle with times of 25.63 and 55.29 seconds, respectively.
Matthews was previously awarded Conference Carolinas Swimmer of the Week on October 30.
The Tornado host Mars Hill University and Lees-McRae College on Friday night at Tennessee High School. The meet is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. following the senior day ceremony.
