King drops conference dual at Emmanuel

FRANKLIN SPRING, Ga. – The King University women's tennis team dropped a Conference Carolinas dual at Emmanuel College on Friday afternoon. Emmanuel took the doubles point and swept singles for the 7-0 victory.

FINAL SCORE: Emmanuel 7, King 0
LOCATION: Franklin Springs, Ga.
RECORDS: King 1-7; Emmanuel 6-7


  • The Lions took the top two doubles flights 6-1 and the third flight 6-0 to take the doubles point.
  • Lauren Smorgonsky nearly came back to defeat Marta Rozadoz at No. 3 singles. After dropping the first set 6-1, Smorgonsky won the second set 6-3.
  • However, Rozadoz won the final set 10-5 to take the match.
  • Vanessa Francois nearly came up with a win at No. 2 singles, but fell to Pearllan Cipriano 7-6, 6-3.
  • The Lions won the final four singles matches to take the dual 7-0.


  • King travels to take on Erskine College on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
  • Emmanuel hosts Lees-McRae College on Saturday.
