BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's tennis team dropped another Conference Carolinas dual on Saturday afternoon. The Tornado played shorthanded as they fell to Belmont Abbey College 7-0.

  • The Crusaders took the top doubles flight 6-2 and the second flight 6-0 to take the doubles point.
  • In singles play, Lauren Smorgonsky dropped a 6-2, 6-1 match at No. 2 singles to Talia Semaan.
  • At No. 1 singles, Vanessa Francois fell to Teagan McNamara 6-1, 6-1.
  • Belmont Abbey won the final four matches to take the dual 7-0.


  • King hosts Southern Wesleyan University at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tornado will have senior day on Saturday when they host North Greenville at 1:00 p.m.
  • Belmont Abbey travels to Erskine College on Friday afternoon.
