Dunford resigns from Tornado tennis programs

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University director of athletics, David Hicks announced the resignation of head men's and women's tennis coach Tim Dunford. Dunford has served in that role since July of 2018.

Last season Dunford led the Tornado men to a 10-9 record, finishing fifth in the Conference Carolinas standings. On the women's side, the Tornado went 1-17, winning their first dual match since the 2016-17 season.

Both teams were selected International Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Teams. The women had three All-Academic Scholar Athletes while the men had seven players honored.

Dunford's last day will be on December 18. A national search for Dunford's replacement will begin immediately.
