KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The King University women's tennis team opened the spring season with a defeat to Carson-Newman University, 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Eagles took the doubles point with a pair of 6-0 wins and a win by default.
  • In singles play, Carson-Newman won the No. 3 and No. 5 singles matches 6-0, 6-0 to extend their lead.
  • At No. 2 singles, Lauren Smorgonsky fell 6-0, 6-2 and Murphy Harr fell 6-0, 6-2 at the fifth flight.
  • The Eagles also won the No. 1 singles match to take the dual 7-0.

UP NEXT

  • King hosts Bluefield College on Saturday. The dual is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
  • Carson-Newman travels to Austin Peay University on Friday.
