Noe, Witt break school records at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – The men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Raleigh Relays on Friday, where team scores were not kept. Jordan Noe and Hannah Witt both set school records set personal records at the event while Spencer Frantom set a personal record.

Witt bested her previous personal-best in the 10,000 meter run with a school record time of 36:19.17, beating her previous best of 37:39.00. That time was also under the NCAA provisional time of 36:45 to qualify Witt for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Noe set a school record by more than seven seconds in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:30.25. The previous school record was 9:38.

Frantom finished the 5,000 meter run in a time of 14:52.45 to best his old mark by nearly two seconds.

Kendra SokolEvan Ferrell and Eliza Parker all competed in the 5,000 meter run. Farrell came within six seconds of her personal record with a time of 18:34.45. Sokol and Parker finished with times of 19:06.34 and 19:06.55, respectively.

Brent Swiney competed in the 1,500 meter run, and finished in a time of 4:02.68.
