Martin, Henry lead King at Terrier Relays

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – On Saturday at the Terrier Relays hosted by Wofford College, the King University women's track and field team was led by Maegan Henry and Amelia Martin. The duo each set personal records at the meet, Martin the 1,500 meter run and Henry in the javelin.

Martin started the meet with a time of 5:00.25 in the 1,500 meter run, giving her an 11th place finish and personal best time. On the other hand, Henry posted a personal record with a mark of 33.04 meters in the javelin throw, placing her 10th. The senior coupled that with a pair of second place finishes in the discus and shot put. Henry posted a discus mark of 36.53 meters and a shot put of 12.80 meters.

Shelbie Burchfield also had a solid day for the Tornado, taking a fourth place finish in the high jump. The senior cleared 1.55 meters to take the top five finish in the event.

King will be in action again on Friday and Saturday at the Beynon Sports Classic, hosted by Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, N.C.
