BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second time this season the King University women's track and field team has had a field athlete named Conference Carolinas Athlete of the Week. Following her first place finish at the Darius Dixon Invitational, Esther Johnson garnered honors this week.
In her lone event of the meet, the freshman posted a shot put of 11.26 meters, taking home first place by 0.27 meters as she was the only competitor to eclipse the 11.00-meter mark. Her toss was within 0.09 meters of her career best mark of 11.35 meters that she posted in the season opening meet. That mark also ranks fifth in Conference Carolinas this season.
The Tornado will be in action again on February 5-6 at the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State University.
