BRISTOL, Tenn. – Kirstin Barton of the King University women's track & field team set a personal record over the weekend at the Buccaneer Invitational and that resulted in her being named Conference Carolinas Track Athlete of the Week.
In the 3000 meters at the Buccaneer Invitational and turned in a spectacular performance, breaking her personal record time by nearly 20 seconds. The San Antonio, Texas native covered the distance in 10:46.42 placed her third as she was the first NCAA Division II runner to cross the tape.
This marks the first time this season Barton has been selected Conference Carolinas Track Athlete of the Month.
King will be in action again on February 17 at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships at JDL FastTrack in Winston-Salem, N.C.
