Ward tabbed Conference Carolinas Player of the Week

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Following a big week for the King University women's volleyball team, Julie Ward was selected Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week. She posted a double-double and over .300 in two wins for the Tornado.

Ward led King to a pair of wins over the weekend against league-leading Barton College on Friday and the University Mount Olive on Saturday. She started with her eighth double-double of the season as King handed Barton their first conference defeat on Friday. The Berthoud, Colo., native accounted for 15 kills and added 13 digs while hitting .382 in the sweep.

On Saturday she hit .387 with 13 kills and added seven digs as King topped Mount Olive. For the week she hit .385 and averaged 4.67 kills and 3.33 digs per set. This marks the second time this season she has been selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week.

King returns to the court in the Student Center Complex on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday this week. The Tornado host Erskine College on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
