Tornado have nine selected academic All-Conference Carolinas

Academic All-Conference Carolinas

BRISTOL, Tenn. – With the women's volleyball season winding down, Conference Carolinas has announced their academic all-conference honorees. King University had nine players recognized by the league.

Earning academic all-conference recognition for the second straight year is Abby Anderson, Angela Boudavong, Megan Morelock and Cathy Scaniffe. Anderson carries a 3.60 GPA and leads Conference Carolinas with an average of 0.49 aces per set. Boudavong owns a 3.91 GPA while Morelock and Scaniffe have GPAs of 3.88 and 3.75, respectively.

Five Tornado earned academic all-conference honors for the first time this season, including Sydney Pigage, Tristyn Lozano, Victoria Gause, Remi Thele and Rebekah Hill. Lozano owns a GPA of 3.64 and ranks third in the conference with an average of 0.47 aces per set. Pigage has been solid in the back row, averaging 4.18 digs per set while carrying a 3.64 GPA. Hill owns a GPA of 3.79 and averages 1.55 kills and 1.90 digs per set. Gause and Thele round out the group, each owning a 3.70 GPA.

Conference Carolinas academic all-conference teams are comprised of junior and senior student-athletes who have competed in a conference-sponsored sport and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution.
