BRISTOL, Tenn. – Tristyn Lozano had a big week for the King University women's volleyball team, leading the Tornado to a 2-1 record. She posted her first two career double-doubles and was selected Tennessee Sports Writers Association Player of the Week on Wednesday.
The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native posted her first two career double-doubles in back-to-back matches, both Tornado wins, on Tuesday against Erskine College and Friday against Southern Wesleyan University.
She started with 12 kills and 11 digs and four blocks in a 3-1 win over Erskine before following it with 11 kills, 19 digs and four blocks in a 3-1 win over SWU. Lozano also hit .310 in the match, making only two errors on 29 attempts, while the 19 digs in the match also set a new career-high. The week ended with nine kills and 14 digs against North Greenville University. For the week she averaged 2.91 kills, 4.00 digs and 0.73 blocks per set.
The Tornado play in the Student Center Complex again on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. King takes on Belmont Abbey College Friday at 7:00 p.m. before squaring off with Lees-McRae College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
