Lady Tornado Wrestling Places Third at Harry Geris Duals

Led by senior Emily Martin, the King women's wrestling team placed third overall at the prestigious Harry Geris Memorial Duals.


LONDON, Ontario -- The No. 1 King Lady Tornado wrestling team traveled to London, Ontario to defend its team title at the Harry Geris Memorial Duals, held on Saturday afternoon. King finished third overall with a short lineup while Emily Martin was named the top American Wrestler of the tournament.

King defeated three different Canadian teams en route to a rematch with the No. 2 Oklahoma City Stars, where they dropped a 16-11 decision. They were put in a third place dual with Alberta, where they were victors by a 20-10 score to take third place as a team.

No. 3 Simon Fraser University defeated OCU in the finals, 21-11, to take the 2012 team title.

Senior Emily Martin earned the Henry Pillard Award for top American Wrestler.
