King still sits atop WCWA rankings

BRISTOL, Tenn. – So far, the King University women's wrestling team has lived up to their preseason #1 ranking, and they are still ranked atop the poll in the latest WCWA rankings. Not only is King the #1 team in the country, but five individuals sit atop their weight classes in the latest rankings.

The Tornado received 134 points in the last WCWA poll, edging out defending national champion Simon Frasier University and Oklahoma City University that each received 96 points. Two weeks ago the Tornado defeated University of the Cumberlands, who is now ranked sixth, at the King Duals.

Freshman Haley Augello is the top-ranked wrestler at 116 pounds while teammate Samantha Klingel is ranked third in the weight class. At 123 pounds, junior Sarah Hildebrandt is ranked #1 while senior Alli Ragan sits atop the rankings at 136 pounds. Junior Julia Salata is ranked #1 at 155 pounds, and sophomore Malexis McAdoo, who was TheMat.com's wrestler of the week earlier this year, is ranked !3 at 191 pounds.

The top-ranked Tornado are in action again this weekend when they travel to the Missouri Valley Open.
