Leonardo Freire Trevisan, an accomplished multisport athlete and rising collegiate coach with a proven record of technical development and program support, enters his first year as Head Coach of Triathlon and Assistant Coach of Swimming & Diving at King University. Trevisan joins the Tornado staff after a successful tenure at Emmanuel University, where he contributed to championship-level performance in both swimming and triathlon while building a reputation for athlete-centered training and operational excellence.
In 2024, Trevisan served as Assistant Coach for Emmanuel’s Men’s & Women’s Swimming and Triathlon programs, helping guide athletes through structured training plans designed to refine technique, increase speed, and build endurance across all disciplines. He played a key role in meet preparation and logistics, ensuring smooth execution of competitions and training camps while maintaining safe, well-organized practice environments. His work supported Emmanuel’s continued success in Conference Carolinas competition and strengthened the program’s developmental foundation.
Trevisan’s collegiate athletic career at Emmanuel University included several standout achievements. A national-level NCAA Division II swimmer and open-water competitor, he helped lead Emmanuel to four consecutive Conference Carolinas Swimming Championship Team titles (2020–21 through 2023–24). Individually, he earned two Conference Carolinas championships (2020–21, 2022–23) and was named the Conference Carolinas Winter Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2023–24. Trevisan also earned induction into the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society for leadership, academic excellence, and business acumen.
Beyond coaching and competition, Trevisan brings diverse professional experience that enhances his adaptability and leadership. He worked as a lifeguard at Emmanuel University from 2022–24, providing aquatic safety and environmental services at Shaw Athletic Center and Robertson Aquatic Center. From 2022–24, he also served seasonally with Shore Beach Service in Hilton Head, SC, operating rental concessions, performing water rescue, and delivering customer service. His technical background includes work as a Tech Assistant with Landmark Properties, troubleshooting network issues and installing cable and Wi-Fi systems, and as an Engineering & Digitization Assistant with Tools Gerenciamento e Engenharia in São Paulo, where he contributed to residential and commercial project operations and created 3D mapping reports.
A native of Brazil, Trevisan earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a Minor in Communications from Emmanuel University in 2024, graduating with a 3.87 GPA and both athletic and academic scholarships. He is multilingual—fluent in English and Portuguese, advanced in Spanish, and conversational in Italian—and holds certifications from the United States Lifesaving Association, American Red Cross, and CPR/AED/First Aid programs.
