Box Score BANNER ELK, N.C. – The King University women's soccer team traveled to take on rival Lees-McRae College on Tuesday night. The contest remained scoreless through 45 minutes before the Bobcats eventually broke through to take the tilt 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tornado had the better scoring chances in the first half as Lizzie Boone ripped a shot that was saved in the 15th minute.
- Jaida Souvannaraj followed with a shot in the 18th minute, but it was off the mark.
- In the 37th minute, Maggie Olvera later ripped a shot, but it too was turned away, keeping the game scoreless at halftime.
- Lees-McRae turned the field in the second half, taking seven shots, four of which were turned away by goalkeeper Lindsey Dunham.
- However, the eighth shot found the back of the net in the 66th minute on a goal from Hope Sanborn who finished after a pair of Dunham saves.
- King tried to net the equalizer in the final 20 minutes, all three of the Tornado shots that were on goal were saved, giving Lees-McRae the 1-0 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- King outshot Lees-McRae 13-10, placing seven shots on goal to the Bobcats' six.
- Dunham made five saves for King.
- Boone had three shots, two on frame.
