Box Score BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball team closed their home schedule in impressive fashion, a late-inning win over Mars Hill University. Cam Haymans drove in the go-ahead run for the Tornado in the eighth inning and Grant Boyd earned the save, giving King the 3-2 victory.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Meyer led the offense with two hits while Bailey drove in a pair.
- Haymans drove in one with a go-ahead single in the eighth inning.
- Valdes, Castaneda and King accounted for the three runs for the Tornado.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Valdes and Castaneda worked a pair of walks to start the first inning and later scored on a Bailey double down the left field line.
- Mars Hill got one run back in the third inning when Brubaker singled through the left side to score Cline who walked earlier in the inning.
- The Lions evened the tally in the fifth inning on another Brubaker single, again scoring Cline who singled earlier in the frame.
- Mars Hill threatened with two runners in the sixth inning, but Tornado pitcher Octavio Mirabal got out of the jam.
- A walk and infield single put two runners on for the Tornado in the eighth inning with Haymans coming to the plate. He ripped the first pitch he saw through the left side to score King and put the Tornado ahead.
- Boyd then game on in the ninth and worked around a one-out walk to record is first save of the season and give King the 3-2 victory.
FOR THE FOES
- Brubaker led the Lions with three hits and two runs batted in.
- Cline scored both of the runs for Mars Hill.
