Personal records lead Tornado at Catamount Classic

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's track and field team competed at the Beynon Catamount Classic in Cullowhee, North Carolina over the weekend. Neyasha Honorable led the way for the Tornado running a personal best in the 400 meter race to place sixth overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Honorable led King with her 400 meter, sixth place finish performance. Posting a time of 58.58 in the event, Honorable set a new personal record.
  • Kirstin Barton also set a personal record as she recorded a time of 5:06.62 in the 1,500 meter race to finish 21st overall. Barton's new personal record is more than ten seconds better than her previous.
  • Hannah Kusmierz performed well for the Tornado as she finished in second place in the 3,000 meter steeple chase with a time of 12:34.
  • Jada Owens cleared 1.46 meters in the high jump to take an 11th place finish for King.
  • Isis Smith took a top-20 finish in the 400 meter race with a time of 62.27 to finish 20th overall in the event.

UP NEXT

  • King is back in action April 27-28 when they travel to Central, South Carolina for the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
