Ward's big week leads to CC Player of the Week honor

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Julie Ward led the King University women's volleyball team to a pair of wins last week and was selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week after hitting .400 in two matches.

The Berthoud, Colo., native helped the Tornado to pair of sweeps, including a win over Conference Carolinas West Division-leading Emmanuel College. In that match against Emmanuel, she posted 10 kills on 19 attempts and two errors in the first set. She ended the match hitting .400 with 18 kills on 35 attempts. The sophomore added seven digs in the Tornado sweep.

Ward followed that by hitting .400 again on Saturday in a sweep of Erskine College. In the match, she posted a match-high 13 kills and added 10 digs for her 10th double-double of the season. For the week, she averaged 5.17 kills and 2.83 digs per set while owning an attack percentage of .400.

This is the second Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honor Ward has won this season.
