BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the third time this season, Jordan Floyd of the King University men's basketball team has been selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week. This week he set a career-high, scoring 40 points in a win at Barton College.
Floyd averaged 29.0 points per game in a pair of games last week. He started with 18 against Southern Wesleyan University on Wednesday before pouring in a career-high on Saturday at Barton. In that contest he scored 40 points, the third 40-point game in program history, tying him for second on the all-time list. It was also the first time since 2011 a Tornado player had scored 40 points in a game and the first in a conference game. Floyd shot 12-for-21 from the floor in the game and 13-for-16 from the free throw line. He now has five 30-point outbursts this season.
Floyd was also selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week on November 11 and November 25.
King takes the court in the Student Center Complex again on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. when they take on Emmanuel College.
