Brown earns CC Acrobatics & Tumbling Biweekly award

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Mattie Brown helped the King University acrobatics & tumbling team to a season-opening win over Limestone College, and earned the Conference Carolinas Acrobatics & Tumbling Biweekly Athlete of the Week award for her performance.

The Taylorsville, N.C. native is the lone senior among the Tornado and plays a leadership role on the team, competing in 11 heats. Her aerial tumbling pass stood out, scoring 9.375 out of a possible 9.400 points. She also competed in the trio pass, scoring 8.650 out of 9.100. Those scores helped King posted their second-highest tumbling event score in program history. King clinched the victory with a team event score of 93.07, the third-highest score in program history.

King returns to the mat on March 7 when they take on Belmont Abbey College at 7:00 p.m. in the Student Center Complex.
