Conference Carolinas Release
BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's outdoor track & field season was cut short due to the national pandemic of COVID-19. Conference Carolinas announced their all-conference team, comprised of seniors from each member school as the Tornado had four seniors named to the team.
Brianna Barrett joined the Tornado track team prior to last season after playing for the soccer team. In her lone season competing on the track, the Kingsport, Tenn., native posted personal records in the 5000 meters, 1500 meters and 800 meters a season ago. She ran 21:55.63 in the 5000 meters, 5:56.03 in the 1500 meters and 2:41.23 in the 800 meters.
Kirstin Barton is a three-time All-Conference Carolinas performer during the outdoor season. San Antonio, Texas native earned second team all-conference in the 10,000 meters and third team honors in the 1500 meters and 5000 meters a season ago. Barton also set personal records in four events a season ago, coming in the 10,000 meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters and 5000 meters.
Ashley Miller is the current school record holder in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.98 seconds coming in 2018. The Traxton, Va., then transitioned to the throwing events, setting personal records in the discus, javelin, hammer throw and shot put last season.
Kaitlin Rivera came to King from Knoxville, Tenn., and has had a solid career for the Tornado. A season ago she set a personal record in the 5000 meters with a time of 20:24.76.
