King swimming teams earn CSCAA All-America team honors

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's and women's swimming teams were named College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America teams this week. This marks the second time both programs have earned this distinction in the same semester.

The women's team has earned CSAA Scholar All-America team honors six times, including the last five semesters. Under the tutelage of head coach James Graves the women posted a 3.18 team GPA in the fall.

For the men, the marks the second time they have earned this award, the other coming in the spring of 2019. In the fall, the men recorded a team GPA of 3.03.

King was one of three Conference Carolinas schools to earn this distinction as they were joined by Barton College, Emmanuel College and Lees-McRae College. Chowan University's women were also recognized.

Swimmers and divers showed remarkable resilience in the classroom this semester, all during a global pandemic upending much of their academic and athletic schedules. More than 450 institutions were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America's Scholar All-America team for their grades during the fall 2020 semester.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development.
