BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Jaclyn McNichols had a big day for the King University women's wrestling team at the Tornado Duals last Sunday. She went 3-0 on the day and picked up a couple weekly awards in the process. The Open Mat named her College Wrestler of the Week and USA Wrestling named her Team USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week.
The junior started the day ranked fourth at 101 pounds and defeated the No. 1, 2 and 3 wrestlers throughout the day. She started with a 3-2 decision over second-ranked Angie Gomez of Emmanuel College before defeated third-ranked Jennesis Martinez of Colorado Mesa University 5-2.
The Fort Worth, Texas native capped the day with a 4-1 decision over top-ranked Pauline Granados of McKendree University.
The Tornado are scheduled to be in action again on Sunday at the Robert Horton Memorial Tournament hosted by Emmanuel.
