CONCORD, N.C. – The King University men's cross country team turned in a stellar performance on Friday afternoon at the Conference Carolinas Championship. The Tornado finished runner-up, placing five runners in the top 21, led by
Jordan Keith who finished fifth.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In his first collegiate race, Keith crossed the tape in 16:32.7 to finish fifth and earn first team all-conference honors.
- Kade McDonald came in 10th with a time of 16:59.2, earning second team all-conference honors.
- Coming in next was Josh Booher who finished 18th with a time of 17:21.8 to earn third team all-conference honors.
- A trio of Tornado were next to cross the finish line.
- Jesus Pacheco and Jake Allison garnered third team all-conference, finishing 20th and 21st, respectively. Pacheco finished in 17:26.0 and Allison finished in 17:33.4.
- Joel Parker narrowly missed all-conference accolades, coming in 22nd with a time of 17:34.2.
- Coming in 30th with Mason Thomas who finished in 17:52.5.
- Blaine Metcalf finished 34th, crossing the tape in 18:09.7.
FOR THE FOES
- Emmanuel College won the event with all five runners in the top 20.
- Cas Kopmels of the University of Mount Olive the individual champion with a time of 15:32.37.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Keith earns all-conference honors in his freshman season.
- McDonald, a senior garners all-conference honors for the first time in his career.
- Sophomores, Booher, Pacheco and Allison earn all-conference honors for the first time.
- The runner-up finish at the Conference Carolinas Championship for King is sixth in program history. And first since 2015. The Tornado finished runner-up five straight times from 2011-15.
