BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's volleyball team bounced back from a defeat earlier in the week with a win over Conference Carolinas foe University of Mount Olive. The Tornado had three double-doubles in the 3-1 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- King fell behind 10-8 in the opening set following a 5-0 Mount Olive run.
- The Tornado worked their way back and evened the tally at 12 with back-to-back points.
- The teams then traded points until the Tornado scored three straight out of a timeout on kills from Brittney Ramsey, Julie Ward and Hailee Blankenship.
- Following a point after a Mount Olive timeout, Blankenship and Allie Zimmerman registered kills that gave King a 19-17 lead.
- King again scored three consecutive points to open up a 23-20 lead, however, Mount Olive came back to pull within 24-23.
- It was to no avail though as the Tornado scored the final point to take the set 25-23.
Second Set
- The second set was tight in the early going before a 3-0 Tornado spurt.
- Ward served up an ace and Blankenship accounted for a kill on the run that gave King a 14-11 lead.
- A Hannah Rogers ace gave the Tornado a 16-12 lead and forced a Trojan timeout later in the set.
- Out of the break, Mount Olive evened the score with four straight points before back-to-back Tornado points.
- King led 23-21 before consecutive Mount Olive points evened the score.
- Georgia Davis and Blankenship then ended the set, 25-23 in favor of the Tornado with back-to-back kills.
Third Set
- Mount Olive got off to a hot start in the third set, taking a 6-2 lead, and didn't slow down.
- The Trojans opened up a 21-9 lead before taking the set 25-13.
Fourth Set
- King used a 5-0 spurt to turn a deficit into a 10-6 lead.
- Ward accounted for two kills on the run while Blankenship accounted or three service aces.
- The teams then traded runs as the Tornado held a 14-9 lead following a Ramsey kill that capped a 4-0 spurt.
- King held off an 8-2 Trojan run that cut the Tornado lead to 24-22 before Ward ended the match.
- Her kill gave King the set 25-22 and the match 3-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Ward led King with 15 kills and 17 digs while Blankenship added 15 kills, 15 digs and three aces.
- Ramsey added seven kills and Zimmerman chipped in with six kills.
- Katie Harless handed out 27 assists and added nine digs.
- Claire Wilson accounted for 18 digs.
- Davis posted 3 assists and 16 digs.
FOR THE FOES
- Ashlyn Stone led Mount Olive with 14 kills and 15 digs.
- Amara Eziakonwa added nine kills, eight blocks and five digs.
- Madison Goodman handed out 15 assists and Jenna Myer added 14 assists.
- Morgan Prots posted a match-high 28 digs.

- King takes to the road next week, first traveling to Erskine College on Wednesday night. First serve from Due West, S.C. is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
