BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's team earned their second Conference Carolinas win in as many days with a sweep of Southern Wesleyan University.
Brittney Ramsey paced the Tornado offense, accounting for 10 kills and an .833 attack percentage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- Jersey Wines served up a pair of aces and Kara Miller accounted for a kill on a Tornado 5-0 run the vaulted the Tornado into a 12-6 lead.
- Julie Ward and Ramsey posted kills on another 5-0 King run as the Tornado opened up a 17-8 advantage.
- The Warriors fought back but kills from Allie Zimmerman and Ramsey gave King the set 25-15.
Second Set
- Southern Wesleyan scored the first point of the set, but King responded with a 12-0 run behind the service of Ward.
- The run started on a Zephanie Snyder and Ramsey block before a Ward ace.
- Ward served up two more aces on the spurt while Snyder and Hailee Blankenship accounted for two kills apiece as King opened up a 12-1 lead.
- A 4-0 King run, highlighted by three straight Blankenship aces gave King a 19-5 lead.
- The Warriors tried to comeback, using an 8-2 run to pull within 24-19, but a miscue gave King the 25-19 victory.
Third Set
- Ward and Snyder accounted for kills while Katie Harless served up an ace on a 4-0 run that gave King a 4-2 lead.
- The spurt continued with seven straight Tornado points, highlighted by three Ramsey kills as King opened up an 11-3 advantage.
- King again scored seven consecutive points to take a 20-5 lead before Snyder ended the 25-9 win with a kill, giving King the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Ramsey didn't make an attack error in the match, accounting for 10 kills on 12 attempts for an .833 attack percentage.
- Blankenship paced the offense with 11 kills on 20 attempts and no errors for an attack percentage of .550. She added three service aces and six digs.
- Snyder and Ward chipped in with seven kills each with Ward accounting for five aces and 11 digs.
- Claire Wilson led the defense with 12 digs.
- Harless handed out 27 assists.
- The Tornado posted 13 service aces, their second-most in a match this season.
FOR THE FOES
- Emily Ellis led Southern Wesleyan with five kills and four digs.
- Ashley Sexton handed out 15 assists and added seven digs.
- Jarena Byers and Kristina Pino accounted for seven digs apiece.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- King has had at least 10 service aces in each of the last four matches, and they have reached double figures six time this year.
