VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – For the second consecutive year, the King University women's track & field duo of
Katy Neubert and
Meg Davis finished 1-2 in the 800 meter run to lead the Tornado at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships. The Tornado finished ninth at the meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neubert and Davis led the way for the Tornado as Neubert won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:23.95.
- Davis wasn't far behind, taking second at 2:24.82.
- In the 60 meter hurdles, Whitney Christian qualified for the finals with a preliminary time of 10.22 seconds.
- In the finals she finished seventh with a time of 9.68 seconds.
- The 4x400 meter relay team of Neubert, Davis, Christian and Christina Passamonte finished fifth with a time of 4:13.30.
- Samantha Jerrell finished eighth with a long jump of 5.18 meters. She then took 11th in the triple jump with a leap of 10.19 meters.
- Larynn Clopton finished 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 10.28 meters.
FOR THE FOES
- UNC Pembroke won the championship with the University of Mount Olive taking second.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Neubert earns first team all-conference in the 800 meter run while Davis earns second team honors.
UP NEXT
- King is scheduled to open the outdoor season on March 6 at the Susan Rouse Invitational at Southern Wesleyan University.
