Guittard selected CC Athlete of the Week

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Following their win over 10th-ranked Limestone University, the King University acrobatics & tumbling team had an individual earn a weekly award. Claire Guittard competed in 13 heats as she was selected Conference Carolinas Athlete of the Week.

Guittard competed in 13 heats, plus the team event for the Tornado in Saturday's 269.395-269.330 win for the ninth-ranked Tornado over 10th-ranked Limestone. She helped King set a program record in the compulsory acro heat with a score of 9.50 as King posted their second-highest compulsory event score of 37.45 in program history. Guittard also competed in two tumbling events, helping King to their second-highest tumbling score in program history with a score of 53.725… The total score and team event scores are the second-highest scores in program history.

This marks Guittard's first career Conference Carolinas Athlete of the Week honor.

King is scheduled to be in action again on March 16 when they host Belmont Abbey College at 4:00 p.m.
