CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The King University men's volleyball team went on the road and earned a sweep of Queens University.
Joshua Kim and
Jackson Carroll paced the Tornado offense in the 3-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- King made their move in the middle of the first set, going on a 4-2 run that opened up a 12-9 lead.
- Carroll book-ended the run with kills, but the Royals came right back and evened the score at 12-12 with three straight points.
- Kills from Kim and Diego Marcano, followed by a block from Marcano and Aaron Milstead gave King a 17-14 lead and forced a Queens timeout.
- Kim served an ace and Milstead followed with a kill to cap the 5-0 King run.
- The Royals made a pair of 3-0 runs down the stretch, but the Tornado held them off to take the set 25-21.
Second Set
- The Tornado held the advantage in the second set as the teams went back-and-forth throughout.
- A Kim kill and block from Marcano and JT Deppe gave King a 17-15 lead.
- Kim then started a 3-0 Tornado run as a Marcano and Misltead block gave King a 21-17 lead.
- Carroll gave King the 25-20 victory with a kill.
Third Set
- The Tornado turned a 7-5 deficit into an 8-7 lead with a 3-0 run early in the third set.
- Queens later opened up a 16-13 lead before back-to-back aces from Kellan Kennedy evened the score for the Tornado.
- Following a Queens point, King the scored three straight points as Queens took a timeout.
- Out of the break, King made it a 4-0 run, as the Tornado came up with three stuffs on the run.
- Kim gave King a chance at match point with a kill as Deppe and Kennedy gave King the 25-21 victory with a block as King took the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Kim led the Tornado with 37 kills, six digs and three block assists.
- Carroll followed with 10 kills.
- Deppe handed out 37 assists and added six digs and four block assists.
- Milstead accounted for seven block assists and Marcano added five block assists.
FOR THE FOES
- JP Payne, Fletcher Murphy and Tristan Santoyo led Queens with six kills each.
- Brandon Grabow handed out 26 assists and posted six digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 10 kills for Carroll sets a career-high.
- Milstead set a career-high with seven blocks.

- King returns home on Tuesday when they host Lincoln Memorial University at 7:00 p.m.
- Queens hosts Emmanuel College on Tuesday night.
