BRISTOL, Tenn. – A big week for a pair of King University individuals has led to Conference Carolinas Weekly Awards.
Joshua Kim earned the Men's Volleyball Player of the Week award while
Isaiah Curry of the men's basketball team took home Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Kim led the Tornado to another nonconference win, posting 16 kills and hitting .500 in a win over Queens. In the match he only committed three errors on 26 attempts. On the defensive end, Kim posted seven digs and three blocks.
This marks Kim's second Conference Carolinas Player of the Week Award of the season, his other came on January 25.
Curry was solid for the Tornado over the week on the defensive end, accounting for five steals and one block. On Thursday, Curry came up with a steal and layup that put the Tornado ahead 78-75 in the final minutes at Belmont Abbey. In that contest he posted three steals and one block before taking a pair of steals in Saturday's win over Belmont Abbey.
This marks Curry's first Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week Award.
The Tornado men's volleyball team is in action again on Tuesday when they host Lincoln Memorial University at 7:00 p.m. The men's basketball team is also in action on Tuesday night, at North Greenville University at 7:00 p.m.
