BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University acrobatics & tumbling team had a historic win on Tuesday night over Belmont Abbey College and
Elizabeth White had a big hand in that. On Wednesday, White was selected Conference Carolinas Acrobatics & Tumbling Athlete of the Week.
White competed in 12 heats for the Tornado in their win over Belmont Abbey College on Tuesday. In the meet, White helped the Tornado set six program records as King posted their third-highest meet total in program history, 270.865.
White competed in all three pyramid heats as King's score of 29.75 set a program record. The Tornado set program records with a scores of 9.95 in heat 2 and a perfect 10.00 in heat 3. The Tornado also set a season record with a score of 9.80 in heat 1.
King set three season-highs in the compulsory event, including a program record score of 9.50 in the acro heat. In the acro event, White helped King set a program record of 9.95 in heat 1… White helped King set a tumbling event score of 54.125 as she competed in the trio pass that scored a season-best 8.700.
This marks the first Conference Carolinas Athlete of the Week award White has won.
King closes the regular season on Thursday at sixth-ranked Converse College. The Conference Carolinas meet is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
