Bowles selected Conference Carolinas Athlete of the Week

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Lindsay Bowles helped the King University acrobatics & tumbling team finish the regular season undefeated with a victory last week. On Wednesday she was selected Conference Carolinas Athlete of the Week.

Bowles helped the Tornado to a road win at sixth-ranked Converse College as she competed in 10 heats. The night started as she helped King set a program record compulsory event score of 37.70. Bowles was a member of three compulsory heats, including a school-record pyramid heat score of 9.90. She later competed in two acro heats, two pyramid heats and two toss heats. The Tornado scored 8.75 out of 9.00 in toss heat three.

In the team event, King posted their third-highest score in program history, 94.94 to complete the come-from-behind win as the Tornado trailed nearly the entire meet until team event. The win gave King the inaugural Conference Carolinas championship, the first conference title of any kind in program history.

This marks the first Conference Carolinas Athlete of the Week award Bowles has won in her career.

King will be in action again on April 10-11 at the Conference Carolinas Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship, hosted by King in the Student Center Complex. The Tornado will be the top seed in the tournament.
