Moore tabbed All-Region by D2CCA

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Drew Moore of the King University baseball team was selected Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) second team All-Southeast Region. He becomes the second Tornado to earn D2CCA All-Region honors.

Earlier this season, Moore was selected second team All-Southeast Region by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and first team All-Conference Carolinas. Moore led the league and the southeast region with an ERA of 1.72. The Virginia Beach, Va., native also ranked second in the region with four complete games, including wins over third-ranked University of Mount Olive and 11th-ranked North Greenville University. In the region, Moore ranked ninth in hits allowed per nine innings at 6.40, 11th with 64 strikeouts, 14th with a WHIP of 1.11 and his seven wins ranked third.

In his final start of the season, Moore tossed nine innings in a 6-1 win over Emmanuel College in the first game of the Conference Carolinas Tournament. In the contest he set the school record in the NCAA Division II era (since 2011) with 14 strikeouts. Earlier in the season he set a personal record with 10 strikeouts in seven innings against Chowan University.

Moore becomes the second individual to earn all-region honors from the D2CCA, joining Ryan Whitt who garnered second team honors in 2016.
