MILLIGAN, Tenn. – The King University men's swimming team opened 2022 with a solid performance at Milligan University on Friday night. However, the Buffaloes were too deep, defeating the Tornado 192-60.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tornado group of Sam Osowiecki, Kessler Dayton, Dale Bruce and Luke Hunt started the meet with a 200 meter medley relay time of 1:53.21 to finish second.
- Gideon Bezuidenhout finished second in the 200 meter freestyle with a time of 2:03.97 while Jan Kuljak came in third at 2:05.46.
- Osowiecki came in runner-up in the 100 meter backstroke with a time of 1:03.74.
- In the 100 meter breaststroke, Dayton touched the wall in 1:08.37to finish third.
- Hunt finished second in the 50 meter freestyle with a time of 25.18 seconds.
- Haakon Meyer came in fourth with a time of 25.45 seconds.
- The trio of Bezuidenhout, Hunt and Meyer came in 2-4 in the 100 meter freestyle.
- Bezuidenhout finished in 56.82 seconds, Hunt came in at 57.50 seconds and Meyer finished fourth in 57.85 seconds.
- Kuljak came in second in the 200 meter backstroke with a time of 2:21.74 while Osowiecki finished third in 2:24.00.
- In the 200 meter breaststroke, Dayton came in fourth with a time of 2:40.43.
- Osowiecki finished second in the 400 meter freestyle, touching the wall in 4:33.34.
- In the 100 meter butterfly, Meyer touched the wall in 1:04.8 8 to take third while Dayton came in fourth with a time of 1:06.58.
- Bezuidenhout finished third with a 200 meter individual medley time of 217.47 while Kuljak came in fourth with a time of 2:22.70.
- The Tornado finished with meet with second place finish in the 200 meter freestyle relay. The group of Meyer, Bezuidenhout, Hunt and Kuljak finished in 1:41.28.
UP NEXT
- King returns to the pool on Saturday when they travel to Mars Hill University to take on the Lions and Lees-McRae College. The meet is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. in Mars Hill, N.C.
- Milligan travels to take on University of the Cumberlands on Saturday, January 22.
