FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. —
Ryleigh Fritz tied her career-high with 21 points Saturday afternoon, but the King University women's basketball team couldn't overcome the Emmanuel College Lions, falling by a final score of 82-69.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period
- Emmanuel jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the first three minutes before Trinity Lee hit a jumper in the paint to trim the deficit to 7-5.
- The Lions continued to hold the Tornado at bay, stretching their lead to as much as 17-9 with just over a minute to play.
- Jaden Potts hit a three with 49 seconds to go to make it a 17-12 lead.
- After a short jumper by the Lions, Brianna Dunbar made a jumper to get King back to within five, 19-14.
- Emmanuel hit a three at the buzzer to take a 22-14 lead into the second quarter.
Second Period
- Emmanuel used a 8-4 run to extend their lead to 30-18 with four minutes to play, but the Tornado started to storm back, as Dunbar hit a layup to get to within 30-20.
- That was the start of a 12-2 Tornado run that spanned the rest of the half.
- During the run, Madison Worley hit a free throw, followed by a layup a short time later to make it 32-23 Emmanuel.
- 15 seconds later, Dunbar recorded a steal and went coast-to-coast, making a layup t get King to 32-25.
- Worley hit a pair of free throws to make the score 32-27 with under a minute to play.
- After Alexa Gramann hit two free throws, Fritz hit a three in the closing seconds to tie the score at 32 heading into the locker room.
Third Period
- The third quarter saw the teams exchanging buckets, with Emmanuel starting to pull away with three minutes to play.
- The Lions scored six points in under two minutes to take a 50-43 lead with 1:19 to play.
- Fritz hit a pair of short jumpers in the closing seconds to get the Tornado to within 52-47 heading into the final quarter.
Fourth Period
- Emmanuel hit a pair of free throws early in the quarter to take a 54-47 lead, but Dunbar made a layup, draw the foul and hit the free throw to make it a four-point Emmanuel lead.
- The Lions stretched the lead to 64-52 before Lee hit a pair of free throws and Fritz made a fast break layup to get back to within 64-56 with five minutes to play.
- Emmanuel then scored seven straight points to take a 71-56 lead, which was too much for King to overcome, as Emmanuel made five free throws in the final 30 seconds to seal an 82-69 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Fritz scored 21 points, along with pulling seven rebounds. Lee added 17 points while Dunbar had 12.
- Worley finished with seven rebounds, five of which were offensive.
- Dunbar dished out a pair of assists.
FOR THE FOES
- Two Lions cleared the 20-point mark, led by 15 from Sydney Wyatt and 21 from Jenetta Elder.
- Jazmin Allen recorded a double-double, scoring 15 points and pulling 12 rebounds.
- Lexi Sengkhamme had a team-high seven assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Fritz's 21 points ties her career high, as well as her season high.
- King went 15-of-18 from the free-throw line, for their third-highest shooting percentage of the season (83.3%).
