JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The King University baseball team took their first road trip of the season to take on Carson-Newman University. The Carson-Newman offense scored in nearly every inning, handing the Tornado an 11-0 defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A single, wild pitch and groundout gave Carson-Newman the early 1-0 lead after the first inning.
- Thomas posted the first hit for the Tornado in the second inning, but he was stranded.
- The Eagles extended the lea with an unearned run in the third before adding a pair in the fourth.
- The first run in the fourth was unearned, and the second was on a Henry Jackson home run.
- The Eagles scored three runs on three run-scoring singles, extending the lead to 7-0.
- Robbie Scott ripped a double to left field in the sixth that moved Junior Renwick to third.
- Renwick tried to score on a flyout but was cut down at the plate.
- Carson-Newman scored three runs in the sixth, two on a single from Jordan Griffin single.
- The Eagles added another in the eighth to take the contest 11-0.

- Jackson led Carson-Newman with two hits, three runs scored and drove in one.
