BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University continues postseason play in multiple leagues over several titles. FIFA, Madden and Rocket League B, all fell in the ECAC Playoffs. Rocket League A has advanced the ECAC semifinals and will face Ball State next week. In NACE Rocket League fell in the consolation quarterfinals to CRL team the University of Missouri. In the NECC, Valorant earned the first seed in the playoff and is set to face off with Northern Essex Community College in the first round.
FIFA
- Austin Pantaleo played in the Conference Carolina FIFA tournament last weekend and faced Erskine College in the first round.
- After a close 2-2 tie in regulation, an extra half was played for overtime.
- Erskine managed to take game one by score 3-2.
- In game two Erskine ran away with the game, taking the series 2-0 and eliminating Pantaleo.
- In the ECAC Pantaleo faced Bethel University in the first round of playoffs.
- This was a great series as they split after two games 1-1.
- Pantaleo was able to rebound from a 5-1 loss to win 6-2 in game two.
- Game three was extremely close but Bethel was able to gain the advantage late in the game to take the series 2-1.
MADDEN
- Drayton Virgo played his first round of ECAC playoffs against Buena Vista University and steam-rolled to victory.
- He took the series in two games by combined score 130-11.
- In the second round Virgo faced Southwestern Assemblies of God and had a very close matchup.
- In game one both teams managed to score each possession with zero turnovers or punts moving into the two-minute warning.
- SAGU was able to grab an interception late in the fourth quarter which set them up for a 35-28 win.
- In game two it was a similar story as both teams protected the ball very well and continued to score.
- SAGU managed an earlier interception and caused a fumble that ultimately gave them the advantage for a 59-39 game two win.
ROCKET LEAGUE
- Rocket League cruised through the ETSU Con tournament last weekend with wins over Appalachian State, Milligan, Indiana Tech and Baldwin Wallace.
- In the final they met up with Appalachian state to take a 3-0 victory for first place.
- In NACE playoffs the Tornado grabbed wins over the University of Kentucky, the University of Waterloo, and University of Minnesota.
- They would lose to Saint Claire and Missouri, both of which have successfully made the top six in the playoffs.
- In the ECAC playoffs the Tornado have amassed wins over State University of New York at Canton, Southern Assemblies of God, and University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
- They will face Ball State next Wednesday in the semifinals.
- Rocket League B won in their first round of ECAC against Grand Valley State but fell to Ball State Club in the second round.
VALORANT
- The NECC playoff bracket has been announced and Valorant will be facing Northern Essex Community College in the first round.
- The Tornado received the first seed in the bracket after a strong 8-1 finish with the only loss to number two ranked Limestone College.
- With a win in the first round of playoffs Valorant will face either Johnson and Wales or Defiance College.
- In their final round of regular season play the Tornado posted a quick 2-0 over Defiance College, recovering from the previous loss to Limestone.
UP NEXT
- On Friday night, the Rocket League team takes on James Madison University at 7:00 p.m. in the Next Level Tournament.
- Monday Valorant will face Northern Essex Community College for the first round of NECC playoffs.
- Wednesday Rocket League will meet up with Ball State an ECAC semifinal.
