Four Tornado selected All-Conference Carolinas

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Prior to the start of the Conference Carolinas Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship, the league announced their all-conference performers. King University had four individuals recognized, Claire Guittard, Lindsay Bowles, Hannah O'Dea and Alyssa Talabac.

Guittard earns first team All-Conference Carolinas honors a season after garnering second team recognition. This marks the third time in her career she has earned all-conference honors as she was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Freshman of the Year and All-ECAC in 2019.

This season, Guittard has competed in 14 heats for the Tornado. The senior helped King set a school record with a score of 9.90 in the compulsory pyramid on March 8 in a win over 11th-ranked West Liberty University. She also holds the highest six element tumbling score of the season at 9.325.

Bowles earns all-conference honors for the first time as she was selected first team All-Conference Carolinas. The senior competes in 10 heats for the Tornado, including all three in the pyramid and the first three compulsory heats. She helped the Tornado set a school record with a compulsory pyramid score of 9.90 in their win over 11th-ranked West Liberty on March 8.

O'Dea was selected second team All-Conference Carolinas for the second straight season. This season, the senior has competed in 11 heats for the Tornado. She helped King to a school record score of 9.90 in the compulsory pyramid in a win over 11th-ranked West Liberty on March 8. She serves as a top and tumbler, helping King to 15 scores above 9.50 this season.

Talabac was selected second team All-Conference Carolinas following her freshman season. She has been solid as a base for the Tornado all season, competing in 10 heats. She helped King set a school record with a score of 9.90 in the compulsory pyramid in the win over 11th-ranked West Liberty on March 8. She helped King to 20 scores above 9.50 on the season.

The Conference Carolinas Championship is hosted in the Student Center Complex on Saturday and Sunday. The first semifinal starts at 4:00 p.m. and will feature top seed Limestone University and fourth seed Belmont Abbey College. Second seed King will then take on third seed Converse University at 7:00 p.m. The championship concludes on Sunday with the event finals at 11:00 a.m. and the championship meet at 5:00 p.m.
