Tornado take two top 15 finishes at Smith Mountain Lake

HUDDLESTON, Va. – The King University bass finishing team had a pair of solid finishes on Friday at the Major League Fishing (MLF) Northern College Series. The Tornado had groups finish fourth and 11th in a field of 55 boats.

LOCATION: Smith Mountain Lake; Huddleston, Va.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Tyler Altizer and Dylan Thomson finished fourth as they caught their limit and weighed in 16 pounds, 11 ounces.
• Jacob Lovell and Maddy Phipps finished 11th, weighting in their limit of five fish for 14 pounds, seven ounces.

FOR THE FOES

• Bryce Fowler and Austin Woody of East Carolina University won the tournament, weighing in five fish for a total of 20 points, eight ounces.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• Both groups qualified for the MLF National Championship, giving King three teams that have qualified.
• The Tornado qualified for the Wiley X College Faceoff on Saturday at Smith Mountain Lake.

• Following the Wiley X College Faceoff, King will be in action again on June 9-10 at the Bassmaster College Series at Saginaw Bay in Bay City, Mich.
