SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The King University women's cross country team opened the season with a solid performance at the Eye Opener Invitational. The Tornado finished fourth overall and second among NCAA Division II teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ashley Doyle led the way for the Tornado, finishing 16th in a time of 19:43.9.
- Not far behind was Morgan Whitley to came in 19th with a time of 19:52.1.
- Amanda Lowery finished in 20:42.2 in her first collegiate meet.
- Katy Neubert came in with a time of 20:51.9.
- Also in her first collegiate race, Emily Ward crossed the finish line in 21:21.3.
- Destiny Haller rounded out the team with a time of 23:14.8.
FOR THE FOES
- Furman University finished first as the Paladins had the top seven individual finishers.
- Converse University was the top finishing NCAA Division II team, finishing fourth. They were followed by King and UNC Pembroke.
