HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
  • After taking over two minutes for either team to score, it was the Tornado who found the bottom of the hoop first on a Brandon Lamberth fastbreak jumper.
  • Lamberth hit a layup at the 14:32 mark to give King an 8-7 lead, which the Tornado extended to 15-12 after another Lamberth layup.
  • The Lions hit a bucket with 10:59 left, starting what would end up being a 10-3 run, taking a 25-19 lead with just over eight minutes to play.
  • Coming out of a timeout, Emmanuel picked up where they left off, eventually taking a 41-28 advantage with 2:14 remaining.
  • The Tornado were unable to get their offense going in the final two minutes, while Emmanuel continued to score, taking a 47-31 lead into the halftime break.
Second Half
  • After trading buckets in the first five minutes, the Tornado started to chip into the lead, as Darron Howard hit a fastbreak jumper with 13:32 left, bringing the Tornado to within 60-48.
  • A short time later, Kenny Turner would grab an offensive rebound and throw down a thunderous dunk, making the score 60-50.
  • The Lions maintained a 10 point advantage up until Myles McCrary hit a couple of free throws, getting King to within single digits with 7:33 left on the clock.
  • Michael Mays hit a jumper with 5:49 left to make it an eight-point game, but the Emmanuel offense was too much, as a 7-0 run gave them a insurmountable 77-62 advantage with just under five minutes left.
  • Jaylen Bernard found his way onto the scoresheet late with a three, but the Lions were able to dribble out the clock, claiming the win.
