BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's soccer team returned home for the first time in nearly two weeks and earned a nonconference win over Carolina University.
Ricky Sexton and
Riley Moore both netted goals in the 2-0 Tornado victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Carolina took three shots in the opening 10 minutes with Tornado goalkeeper Gauthier Lumale coming up with saves on the second two.
- The Tornado struck in the 13th minute as Pedro Herrera sent a ball through the defense to Sexton who beat the keeper low in the middle left of the goal to give King the 1-0 lead.
- Lumale came up with another save in the 27th minute to give King the 1-0 advantage at the half.
- Carolina started the second half with a pair of shots and a corner kick in the opening 20 minutes before the Tornado broke through again.
- In the 70th minute, Herrera sent a cross that was corralled by Moore who ripped his shot off of a bounce inside the left post to extend the Tornado lead.
- The Bruins had a chance to get on the board in the 88th minute, but Lumale turned away a penalty kick, giving King the 2-0 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- King took six shots in the contest, placing two on goal and earning five corner kicks.
- Lumale made four saves, posting his first career shutout and the second of the season for the Tornado.
- The goal for Sexton is his first career goal while Moore added his first tally of the season.
