ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The King University men's volleyball team dropped their nonconference matchup to Lindenwood University Saturday afternoon, 3-0.
Warren Davis had 10 kills for the Tornado.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- Lindenwood took an early 8-2 lead, before the Tornado scored three of the next four points, pulling to within 9-5.
- After the Lions stretched the lead to 16-8, King scored consecutive points on a Davis kill and an attack error by Lindenwood.
- The Tornado scored a pair of points after trailing 24-13, including a kill by Alex Barkley.
- Lindenwood would win the set 25-15, taking a 1-0 lead.
Second Set
- After Kellan Kennedy picked up an early kill, the Tornado took an early 3-1 lead.
- The Tornado were able to rally after falling behind 11-7, scoring four of the next six points to pull to within 13-11.
- Lindenwood extended their lead to 19-13, but King would score five of the next seven points, narrowing the lead to 21-18.
- King got to within 24-21, but the Lions would win the set, 25-21.
Third Set
- Lindenwood raced out to a 5-2 lead before a 4-1 King scoring run that tied the set at six, with Mason Martindale picking up a service ace.
- The Tornado continued to play the Lions close, keeping the score to one or two points, including when Grayson Stoudt picked up a kill, pulling king to within 15-14.
- Lindenwood would close the set on a 10-5 run, winning the set 25-19, and the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Davis led the way with 10 kills for the Tornado, along with two set assists.
- Andrew Haber had 21 assists on the match.
FOR THE FOES
- Ian Schuller had 11 kills, one of three Lions to finish with double-digit kills, with AJ Lewis and Clay Wieter both recording 10.
- Connor Sheehan had 32 assists, while Wieter had a team-high five aces
UP NEXT
- King will play a pair of games at Long Beach State University next weekend, starting Friday at 10 p.m. before starting Conference Carolinas play at home Feb. 9.
- Lindenwood will host Lewis University Wednesday night.
