EMORY, Va. – The King University men's basketball team dropped their road matchup Saturday afternoon, 83-56 to Emory & Henry.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
- The Tornado took their first lead of the day at the 15:33 mark after Xavier Betancourt and Mikhail Pocknett hit consecutive layups to put the Tornado in front 11-7.
- The Wasps responded with a three with 8:39 left in the half, taking a 27-19 lead, which at the time was their largest lead of the game.
- Emory & Henry continued to extend the lead, eventually reaching 43-29 as the Wasps made a layup as the horn sounded to end the half.
Second Half
- The Tornado scored eight of the first 12 points, pulling to within 47-37 off a Pocknett layup with 15:03 remaining.
- Emory & Henry scored the next 10 points, taking a 57-37 lead with just under 12 minutes to play.
- The Wasps continued to increase their lead, reaching 65-41 with 9:44 left on the clock.
- A layup from Pocknett, as well as free throws from Seth Cullen and Pocknett brought the Tornado to within 65-45, but the Wasps closed the game on a 17-10 scoring run, winning 82-56.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Pocknett finished with 19 points and nine rebounds, finishing just one rebound shy of his first double-double of the season.
- Petar Mijatovic scored 10 points, going 4-of-6 from the field along with four rebounds.
- Betancourt finished with three assists, nine points and five rebounds.
FOR THE FOES
- Draven Pilson scored 22 points for the Wasps, with Korbin Dixon scoring 17 and Jalen Leftwich adding 14.

- King will return to the Student Center on Monday night when they host Bluefield University, with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
