Gracia Love of the King University women's volleyball team was named Third Team All-Conference Carolinas Monday afternoon, her first career all-conference nod.
Love, a junior from Greenback, Tenn., appeared in 21 matches with 20 starts. She totaled a team-high 259 kills, her 3.50 kills per set ranked third in the conference. She had a season high 22 kills against Converse and 18 digs against Bluefield State. Twice she had three service aces in a match – against West Alabama to open the season and then again on Sept 25 against North Greenville. On the front line, she also contributed to defensive efforts with 19 total blocks and 160 total digs. Love averaged 3.82 points per set – the third best mark in the conference.
She finished the season with 6 double-doubles for kills and digs – against North Greenville on Sept. 25 (16 kills, 11 digs), Belmont Abbey on Oct. 23 (11, 14), Erskine on Oct. 26 (11, 11), at Converse on Oct. 30 (22, 13), vs Lees-McRae on Nov 6 (20, 14), and to close the season in the first round of the Conference Carolinas tournament against Barton with 10 kills and 12 digs.
