BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball team dropped both ends of their Conference Carolinas doubleheader to Barton College Saturday afternoon, falling 9-5 in the first game before dropping a 9-1 game two.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Barton scored the first nine runs of the game, taking a 9-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth.
- Patrick Corley led off the bottom of the frame with a walk, advancing to second on a passed ball.
- After advancing to third on a Conner Hyatt double, he scored on an error.
- Chad Evans then drew a walk, loading the bases for a pair of sacrifice flyouts, making the score 9-3.
- Martin then doubled down the right field line, with Huffman singling to center to bring in Martin and cut the lead to 9-5.
- Barton was able to hang on over the final two innings, with King getting a pair of runners on in the seventh before falling 9-5.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- The Bulldogs scored four times in the second to take an early 4-0 lead.
- King got on the board in the bottom of the third, as Roper hit a two-out single, scoring when Borchardt ripped a double to left field, cutting the lead to 4-1.
- After getting a couple of baserunners in the middle frames with Barton adding five more runs, King got runners to first and second in the ninth, but a strikeout and a ground ball fielder's choice ended the game, with Barton winning 9-1.

- Matthew Rivera was 5-for-7, with five RBI and a pair of home runs on the day.
